Los objetivos centrales del presente trabajo son: Dar a conocer la trayectoria profesional de Fernando Marcelino Pi Jhones a quien nos referiremos durante esta investigación como Fernando Jhones, su nombre artístico, y el impacto que éste representa en el quehacer dancístico de la cultura, tanto en Cuba como en México. Es un orgullo comenzar este resumen justificando la elección de Fernando Jhones como objeto de estudio: primero, por ser mi padre y después por la profunda admiración hacia él como excelente intérprete, profesor, maitre, cubano-mexicano; por su carácter perfeccionista y por su valentía y franqueza. La información a la que aquí se refiere será totalmente imparcial y se tratará de hacer un análisis lo más objetivo posible sobre el personaje a analizar. Se incluirán fotografías que testifiquen algunas de sus obras y de los personajes clásicos y contemporáneos interpretados a lo largo de su carrera, mencionados como apoyo visual al contenido. En el Capítulo I se hará una breve historia de la danza a partir de la comunidad primitiva, por tratarse de un personaje masculino, se recorrerá desde la importante labor y aportación a la danza de Luis XIV, así como de otras figuras masculinas, el Capítulo II será una definición del concepto de lo cubano, de la escuela cubana de ballet y del Ballet Nacional de Cuba para luego enfocarnos en el Capítulo III, en la colaboración de Cuba con México en cuanto a ballet y adentrarnos en la trayectoria como bailarín, maestro y coreógrafo de Fernando Jhones como vanguardia artística. Es necesario entender cómo el artista objeto de estudio, llegó a representar un punto de referencia para la cultura cubana y su vinculación con la cultura balletística universal, por tal motivo se analizará las relaciones dadas entre Cuba y México, donde se realizaron sus últimos logros profesionales.

The main purpose of this study is to: Bring light to the life and work of Fernando Marcelino Pi Jhones, whom we’ll refer to as Fernando Jhones, his stage name, and the impact his labor has had on the world of dance, in Cuba and as well as in Mexico. It's an honor to present the artist as the object of my study: firstly because he is my father and secondly, because of the deep admiration I have for him as an excellent performer, teacher, maitre, Cuban-Mexican and a perfectionist by nature and for his courage and candor. The information about the character to which we refer here is thoroughly impartial and we will try to analyze it as objectively as possible. Researched from interviews and testimonial conducted by the author, supporting the visual content are photographs which attest to his classical and contemporary roles, which he interpreted throughout his career. In Chapter I we will provide a brief history of dance beginning with the primitive community, from the male dancer’s perspective, starting with the contribution and work of Louis XIV and other male figures. In Chapter II we will portray the Cuban School of Ballet and the Cuban National Ballet. In Chapter III we will focus on Cuba’s collaboration with Mexico in terms of ballet, following Jhone’s path as a dancer, teacher and choreographer, as well as avant–gard artist. It is necessary to understand how this extraordinary individual came to represent a reference point for Cuban culture and its relationship to universal ballet. For this reason we analyze the relations between Cuba and Mexico due to his latest achievements in the latter.
