El límite territorial entre Guatemala - México es el inicio de una travesía por el limbo o en algunos casos el mismísimo infierno, para llegar al lugar prometido que simula ser el paraíso; Estados Unidos. Las personas que por condiciones forzadas deciden partir, asumen cruzar a ciegas, a un mundo con aparentes posibilidades. En la travesía no se sabrá si llegaran vivos a sus destinos o los precios tan altos que tendrán que pagar. Hombres, mujeres, niños, padres, madres, hermanos se lanzan a una línea de fuego con el anhelo de no quemarse. En este performance quiero mostrar con mi cuerpo el riesgo de cruzar la frontera, representada en una línea de fuego que me lastima y quema. Con cuerpecillos de papel adheridos al mío simbolizando la fragilidad de lo humano frente a la inmensidad de la frontera misma. Se llama “Pollos” mi performance porque es el nombre que se le asignan a los migrantes que cruzan la frontera, “guiados” por el denominado “Pollero” que los lleva en fila india, como lo hace la mamá gallina con sus polluelos. A nivel personal, me anime a tomar este tema para mi performance porque conocí una migrante la cual me relató su experiencia y ver como lo arriesga todo para llevarle a sus hijos una vida mejor. En donde el amor de una madre supera el mismo riesgo o temor hacia la muerte.
