Existen culturas que en nuestra actualidad continúan sometiendo a la mujer a cumplir con lo que se les manda y pasan por alto los derechos humanos que merecen y simplemente las obligan a despojarse de su dignidad, de su felicidad y de forma de pensar.
El ejemplo perfecto para este performance fue representar una boda arreglada entre una niña pequeña y un anciano, esta situación es más común de lo que parece.
El motivo de esta representación es formar un criterio amplio de la percepción con la que valoramos nuestros derechos como mujeres y a su vez invito a seguir con la lucha en contra de este tipo de sucesos que van en contra de cualquier mujer.
En la India y gran parte de África estos actos se siguen cometiendo incluso en algunas zonas de la Sierra de Oaxaca en México aún existen los matrimonios arreglados de mujeres muy jóvenes con hombres mayores que por pagar unas cuantas monedas o incluso droga fácilmente venden a las mujeres como ganado.

Estos performances (junto con el perfomance La verdad detrás de todo lo que ves) son una crítica social, hablan acerca de la insensibilidad de las personas en la actualidad, puesto que muchos de nosotros actuamos hipócritamente ante sucesos que afectan de una u otra forma a nuestra sociedad, ya sea dentro o fuera de nuestro país.
El performance es una segunda visión acerca del tema, al contrario del anterior, la idea es mostrar la hipocresía del ser humano, puesto que la intención es no escuchar mientras el sujeto observa y está al pendiente de la problemática que se le está planteando, pero al final no se quiere involucrar o en realidad no le importa, aunque sea algo que pueda afectarlo.

En el video me muestro como un personaje de la televisión sin camisa, puesto que simboliza el estar expuesto a diversas situaciones sociales que no podemos evitar y como personas el no tener el poder de hacer algo al respecto; acto seguido muestro imágenes relacionadas con la situación de guerra en siria, se muestra el video con puro audio de disparos de armas de fuego.
Al final del video hay una serie de imágenes de explosiones, con ellas mi intención es hacer una reflexión acerca de que todos quisiéramos que este tipo de situaciones se resolvieran o no existieran, pero más que nada es alusivo a una sanación próxima la cual todos quisiéramos que suceda; por ultimo dejo de mostrar el video, me pongo una cadena con una placa militar y desaparezco de la pantalla, con esto quiero dar a entender que por más que nos disguste o incomode dicha situación, no podremos cambiar algo si no nos levantamos y actuamos.

Lo que hago en esta presentación de performance es una crítica social, que va dirigida al maltrato de la clase obrera de nuestro país en general, en el cual se encuentra una gran cantidad de personas que sacrifican gustos, pasiones, momentos y parte de su vida por encontrar una manera de conseguir ingresos y poder sobrevivir y solventar una vida “digna”.
Esta obra habla acerca de cómo, en su mayoría, las grandes empresas se benefician directamente de sus empleados y en ocasiones exprimen hasta la última gota de productividad de sus trabajadores, quienes habitualmente tienen que soportar injusticias por razones como el sustento familiar, una calidad de vida decente, engendrar un futuro digno o simplemente para solventar parte de sus estudios.
Precisamente tomo el papel de “EMPRESA-JEFE”, vistiendo de traje, con porte de ejecutivo, al mismo tiempo selecciono al personal que trabajará PARA MÍ, prometiéndoles algún tipo de remuneración, pero conforme avanza el tiempo voy exigiéndoles más gradualmente y eventualmente consumiéndolos en su totalidad.

La visión es de los sentidos con los que más nos desarrollamos en cualquier ámbito. La vista es uno de los primeros elementos comunicativos aún sin haber un lenguaje o medio. El hecho de quedar apartada de dicho sentido, es sin duda uno de mis peores miedos, no sólo porque implica más del 50% del desenvolvimiento de mi carrera sino porque siento que sin él no podría continuar mi vida en ningún sentido.
El desprenderme de este sentido mientras una clase común sucede, es no sólo desesperante sino recreativo porque la reflexión de que aunque conoces el lugar y a las personas, es inevitable quedar aislado. Esta pieza es sólo un recordatorio de lo peor que podría pasarme.

El dolor físico no es comparable con el dolor de haber desaprovechado oportunidades. Es muy fácil distraerse de los ideales, sueños y metas por el factor monetario. Esta pieza busca la reflexión personal de los presentes, generalizando con una frase a cerca de su propia realidad, pero haciéndolos partícipes con sus acciones.
El dolor de recibir la cera caliente en el rostro, simboliza el dolor que a largo plazo causa la ceguera por la ambición.

Se utiliza la fotografía como registro del día a día desde el primer día de clases de mi inicio de la carrera en Bellas Artes, hasta el día de la fiesta de despedida anterior al periodo de intercambio a la ciudad de Granada, España. El conjunto de poco más de 1090 fotos, que equivale a poco más de tres años, materializan el paso del tiempo: momentos de alegría, tristeza, cansancio, emoción, insomnio, cabello creciendo, maquillaje corrido, caras lavadas, ojos alegres y lagrimosos, resumen momentos que han quedado inmortalizados. Al mismo tiempo se reproduce una grabación, obtenida y adaptada del texto de Jorge Luis Borges “El inmortal” que nos convence de lo terrible que sería la inmortalidad en este plano de existencia.
La tecnología es parte de nuestra vida diaria, se ha vuelto una extensión de nuestro cuerpo y podemos inmortalizarnos a través de ella, sin embargo, lo importante recae en el tan dichoso “carpe diem”; realización y aprovechamiento máximo del ahora.

Este performance ejemplifica claramente la posición social que ha adquirido la mujer desde tiempos remotos y que, a pesar de toda la protesta, y lucha de equidad, en muchos casos se sigue llevando a cabo, más por usos y costumbres que por otra cosa. La figura estilizada y los tacones sólo reafirman los estándares de belleza que además se tienen que cumplir. Calladas y sumisas, son como los hombres mexicanos mucho tiempo han buscado a sus parejas… y las han encontrado.

Es terrible que las máximas o más felices experiencias, son en su mayoría, valoradas cuando ya no existen. Así mismo, la marcha o el fallecimiento de un ser querido no es sencillo de afrontar. Este performance cubre por completo una ausencia curando a través de un gesto que en occidente es muy conocido y dulce: un beso. El título se debe al luto que se guarda por todo aquello que no se dio en su momento y que se desea haber dado, dejando la reflexión de vivir día a día y aprovechar al máximo cada momento.

Los ideales éticos y estéticos han sido siempre influenciados a favor (o en pro) de los valores económicos, es decir, “con dinero baila el perro”, como se diría comúnmente. Y si bien es verdad que el dinero en sí (papel impreso y metal grabado) fueron una alternativa de intercambio comercial que favorecía y simplificaba las transacciones, hoy en día la importancia que se le da a éste, en muchos casos va más allá de nuestros propios ideales.
Esta pieza la planteo como crítica social a la “uniformidad” de pensamiento frente a la que nos encontramos actualmente: todo se resume en dinero, poder adquisitivo, pertenencias, valores económicos palpables, sin darnos cuenta que lo realmente valioso no tiene esta última característica.

El maquillaje existió como recurso para el fácil reconocimiento de un poder superior jerárquico y posteriormente para fines estéticos. Actualmente se vende como única alternativa de embellecimiento de la mujer, dando por hecho que ésta no es linda por si misma, sino que siempre hay algo por mejorar. Cuando el maquillaje es utilizado de manera excesiva, no cubre sólo “imperfecciones” sino todo por completo, lo que metafóricamente puede llevarnos hasta una pérdida de identidad.

Hablando aun del tema sobre los límites de la humanidad, las zonas en conflicto y los problemas graves contemporáneos. En este caso el tema central son las personas refugiadas que tienen que atravesar el mar mediterráneo para comenzar una nueva vida. El testimonio utilizado es Dooa, una mujer syria de 19 años que sobrevivió la terrible travesía que miles de personas no han podido, rescato a su vez a una niña. Dooa con apenas 19 años siendo refugiada en Egipto decide junto con su novio cruzar el mar y llegar a Grecia para recuperar la libertad que ya no tienen. Al llegar se dan cuenta que, así como ellos, cientos de personas tomaron la misma decisión. Con el paso de los días y al terminarse casi toda la comida, un barco de "piratas" ordena que se bajen, dichas personas asaltan los barcos para violar a los pasajeros, robarlos, incluso matarlos. La tripulación se niega y el barco se aleja, por la noche el mismo barco regresa impactándose y destruyendo gran parte del barco en donde viaja Dooa, la mayoría de la gente cae al agua, algunos otros se ahogan al quedar sobre escombros, Dooa ve como un niño es partido en dos con los restos que se parten del barco. Así es como cientos quedan varados en aguas desconocidas. Dooa relata que con el paso de las horas la gente perdía la fuerza y simplemente se dejaba de ir de aquello que lo mantenía a flote y se ahogaban. Su novio permanece cerca y encuentra un flotador de dona ya que ella no sabe nadar. Al paso del segundo día una señora se acerca a ella entregándole su hijo de meses, ella ya no podía resistir más, se alejó para que, así como el resto dejó que el agua se llevará su último aliento. Pasa el siguiente día y el novio de Dooa ya no soporta más, despidiéndose de ella y pidiéndole disculpas le pide que ella ahora cuide del pequeño y de ella y minutos después Dooa ve ante sus ojos como él se desvanece. Pronto otra mujer, palestina, le entrega a Dooa su pequeña niña. Ahí está Dooa sin saber nadar, con dos pequeños a los cuales tranquiliza diciendo que sus mamás solo fueron por comida. Al paso de los 4 días Dooa es rescatada junto con escasos números de sobrevivientes que no alcanzan ni los 40 en total. Dooa es trasladada en helicóptero a Grecia junto con la niña, el niño más pequeño murió dentro del barco de rescate.

Prácticas como yoga vienen cargadas con generar energía durante los movimientos y la misma práctica, normalmente antes de comenzar se intenciona con un sankalpa, tomando en cuenta que esa energía llegue a los espacios que necesiten paz o sanción. Retomando el tema de las personas en zonas de conflicto, realicé una práctica sobre una manta blanca y manchando los pies de pigmento rojo, dejando al final una huella metafórica de los espacios a los que fue dirigida la energía que pudo generarse.

Hace unas cuantas semanas me enteré de que padecía una enfermedad degenerativa de los ojos, lo cual me hizo reflexionar en el siguiente performance. Donde por medio de un video que iba narrando sucesos pasados de los cuales tenía un vívido recuerdo pues yo miré ese momento; suceso presento, donde se me daba la noticia del padecimiento médico; y suceso futuro, donde reflexionaba sobre las cosas que no sería capaz de ver si en algún momento la enfermedad avanzara. Mi límite es ese, el imaginar la pérdida de mi visión, y las cosas que podrían escapárseme al no ser capaz de mirar.

En Quidah, en el sur de Benín, realizan la escarificación, como se conoce la realización de cortes superficiales en la piel con fines rituales, ha sido utilizada durante muchos siglos en partes de África para indicar la herencia tribal de una persona. Es una tradición que se ha vuelto menos frecuente, pero todavía hay gente que quiere llevar las marcas de sus ancestros. El lugar donde se hará la incisión se marca con cenizas y en pocos segundos se hacen las cortaduras.
También es a través de la cara que se recuerda a los ancestros, a través de ciertas características físicas que hacen recordar a ellos.
A través de una reinterpretación de esto, quise hacer un recuerdo para mis ancestros de los cuales no tengo recuerdos. A través de mi cara los plasmo en un álbum de fotos.
