Dejar huella es un término temporal, se podría decir que una pintura puede ser la huella del pintor pero en realidad una instalación, o un ejercicio pictórico efímero, también deja huella, solo que con menos tiempo, pues ninguna huella es infinita, en algún momento se borrará y no dejará rastro, como la existencia. Pasamos una tercera parte de nuestra vida durmiendo. Sin embargo, solo soñamos por ráfagas de pocos minutos. Si calculamos un promedio, a lo largo de nuestra vida soñamos seis años enteros. Durante este proceso, el cerebro se activa casi en su totalidad necesitando para ello que el flujo de sangre en el mismo sea el doble que el necesario durante el estado de vigilia. Solo una parte del cerebro deja de funcionar mientras dormimos: el centro lógico. Es por esto que los sueños adquieren, muchas veces, matices de irrealidad. Además, para no exteriorizar nuestros sueños, el cerebro envía señales a la médula espinal paralizando así nuestros miembros de manera temporal. Lo único que movemos mientras soñamos, lo cual sucede durante la fase conocida como REM, son nuestros ojos, que se mueven de manera acorde con nuestra actividad en el sueño. Una función importante que cumple nuestro cerebro durante el sueño es la de desechar y seleccionar los recuerdos. Por eso, dormir puede ser la solución a un problema que no conseguimos resolver. Asimismo, un sueño puede ser un reflejo fiel o, en la mayoría de los casos, simbólico de lo que ocupa nuestra mente, de nuestros miedos (sueño es traum en alemán) y de nuestros deseos. Aquí la pregunta es si lo sueño pueden trascender, eso no lo sabemos, pero sin duda alguna dejan una huella. El término guapo está un poco más familiarizado con el atractivo de un hombre, pero hay zonas del país, en que hasta esta palabra está mal empleada viniendo de un hombre. De esta manera la palabra bonito al estar relacionada con la mujer, al ser empleada en un hombre, es algo completamente “homosexual”, un hombre no puede decir bonito, no puede ser bonito, y en ocasiones ni siquiera guapo. El hombre es víctima de su machismo, se juzga a sí mismo y juzga a los demás, está tan presente su homofobia, que él mismo inventa parámetros que no existen, él mismo maquilla a los demás para no maquillarse él. Son reglas tontas que han hecho del hombre un mastodonte que no puede juzgar la belleza ni siquiera de sí mismo, un hombre no puede sentirse bonito, no puede tener aspiraciones a embellecerse, sin antes ser juzgado por los demás y peor aún, por sí mismo. El hombre no puede usar maquillaje, eso es de mujeres, el hombre no tiene el derecho de aparentar belleza, el hombre no puede tener belleza, ¿eres una macho o un joto? En el caso de una persona que consume alguna sustancia psicoactiva de manera crónica, el interés desde una perspectiva psicológica no es si consume heroína, cocaína o alcohol, sino el patrón de comportamiento que mantiene dichos niveles de consumo y que posiblemente afectan otras áreas importantes o relevantes de la vida del individuo. Este patrón de comportamiento puede ser descrito como evitación experiencial si el consumo de dicha sustancia alivia a la persona al “hacerlo olvidar” o “reducir las penas” que constantemente lo persiguen. Como sería evidente, el patrón de consumo está siendo mantenido por la evitación de eventos privados que son aversivos para la persona. El trastorno de evitación experiencial (TEE) ocurre cuando una persona no está dispuesta a establecer contacto con sus experiencias privadas (los estados o sensaciones de su cuerpo, sus pensamientos, sus recuerdos, etc.) y se comporta deliberadamente para alterar, tanto la forma o frecuencia de tales experiencias, como las condiciones que las generan. Aunque este patrón comportamental pueda resultar aparentemente efectivo a corto plazo (por cuanto consigue reducir o eliminar temporalmente el malestar y, por tanto, da la razón o potencia la estrategia perseguida), si se convierte en crónico llega a producir una limitación en la vida personal (Hayes et al., 1996; Luciano & Hayes, 2001). Las numerosas formas de responder a los signos de malestar, de sufrimiento, conforman una clase funcional —una operante— reforzada positiva (por hacer lo que uno cree que es correcto) y negativamente (porque de modo inmediato reduce en parte el malestar o el dolor). Sin embargo, estas conductas ajustadas a la reducción del malestar, de los miedos, son contrarias a aquellas conductas que irían cargadas de vitalidad por estar encaminadas hacia lo que importa. Es el caso, por ejemplo, de una persona que funciona bajo la lógica de que necesita estar completamente segura que no será dañada para iniciar o mantener una relación personal y que, progresivamente, va viendo mermado su círculo social. Así, su patrón de control para sentirse segura produce un estancamiento en sus valores referidos a la amistad, a la par que extiende su sensación de inseguridad y malestar. Es decir, la solución que se da al supuesto problema que no es, es justamente el problema. Por tanto, es una solución paradójica que indicaría que se toma como problema lo que no es y como solución lo que es el problema. En el fenómeno de ser pareja amerita conocer el contexto cultural en donde ambos individuos han sido formados y donde se desenvuelven, ya que esto influirá directamente en la forma en que ambos ven y actúan dentro de una relación. El amor es un proceso netamente biológico y que no representa una característica exclusivamente humana, habiendo otros mamíferos y aves que la experimentan. La relación de pareja es un proceso que abarca toda la naturaleza humana y en donde el amor es un elemento de la relación, pero no el único que lo conforma. El término empoderamiento proviene del inglés empowement y su traducción al español ha sido empoderamiento. El término empoderamiento lleva implícito todo un proceso, un proceso de capacitación hacia la emancipación. En un primer momento este término fue acuñado en la IV Conferencia Mundial en Beijing para referirse al aumento de la participación de las mujeres en los procesos de toma de decisiones y acceso al poder. Pero actualmente esta expresión conlleva también otra dimensión: la toma de conciencia del poder que individual y colectivamente ostentan las mujeres y que tiene que ver con la recuperación de la propia dignidad de las mujeres como personas. Una de las funciones más importantes de la emoción es la de preparar al organismo para ejecutar eficazmente la conducta exigida por las condiciones ambientales, movilizando la energía necesaria para ello, así como dirigiendo la conducta (acercando o alejando) hacia un objetivo determinado. Plutchik destaca ocho funciones principales de las emociones y aboga por establecer un lenguaje funcional que identifique a cada una de dichas reacciones con la función adaptativa que les corresponde. La correspondencia entre la emoción y su función son las siguientes: miedo-protección; ira-destrucción; alegría-reproducción; tristeza-reintegración; confianza-afiliación; asco-rechazo; anticipación-exploración; sorpresa-exploración.
