El video consiste en una video-performance en la que cubro mí rostro a modo de crisálida con una cuerda de rafia mientras se sobre-proyectan imágenes de una calle comercial del centro de Glasgow. El resultado es un conglomerado de marcas, gente, y ruido que nos habla de la identidad del individuo contemporáneo. Una identidad colectiva, difusa, en continua negación, difuminando la frontera entre el “yo” y el otro, entre lo público y lo privado, una imagen desenfocada de la cultura contemporánea. El video parte de una situación personal, de una necesidad íntima de aislarme, de ocultarme. De ahí la metáfora de la crisálida como guarida en la que poder esconderse para renacer convertido en otra cosa. La construcción de un capullo con la intención de aislarse de la influencia de lo público. El audio, por otro lado, consiste en un paisaje sonoro de la actividad de dicha calle comercial mezclado con la repetición, a modo de letanía, de las conjugaciones del verbo ser. El ejercicio visual es borrar las letras os del cuerpo se van con resistencia mientras al hacerlo son como fierros agarrándose a el cuerpo, obstinación de cada o, a pesar de desarrollarse en un espacio íntimo, muy cerca se escucha la lluvia evocando al exterior donde resuena esa necedad de cambiar el lenguaje, la invitación es pensar en otras palabas en otras letras. La escena ocurre al mismo tiempo un texto de Daniel Gascón, que prescinde de la letra o, es en esas palabras que se encuentra la evocación de este vídeoperformance. A continuación el texto: El mantra se repite en tribunas, tertulias y análisis. Se puede escuchar en las pesadillas y en la vigilia. A muy temprana edad una niña recibe la sentencia y la naturaliza, la hace suya. La palabra sin marca en la lengua castellana es la palabra masculina. En plural designa simultáneamente a entidades masculinas y femeninas. A veces es ambigua y a veces discrimina. Se trata de la diferencia gramatical: una manera de discriminar independiente de la de la naturaleza, según dicen. Ya se sabe que esa supuesta neutralidad es una falacia que encubre una herramienta para invisibilizar a la mujer. El imparable tsunami feminista trabaja sin cesar para que esta evidencia se acepte. Se sabe que la parte semántica carece en buena medida de disputa y que hay causas prescriptivas y descriptivas para insistir en la brecha. Lingüistas de tendencias muy diferentes, en universidades y hasta en la Real Academia, admiten ya las premisas. A veces hacen matices, hablan de la naturalidad de la lengua, del avance y avatares de las palabras del latín a las lenguas francesa, italiana, catalana y castellana. Es un disfraz, un camuflaje que busca deslegitimar el avance tras la excusa de la ciencia. Se señalan y a veces extirpan las palabras que marcan realidades e imágenes sexistas. Nuevas realidades exigen que se amplíe el caudal y que se creen significantes para las nuevas circunstancias y sensibilidades. Hay una ausencia grave aún. Muchas más áreas de la lengua de las que habitualmente se admiten muestran huellas sexistas y patriarcales. Sucede en palabras, letras y partículas gramaticales que carecen de carga semántica, según dicen desde academias y universidades. Nada es puramente instrumental en un sistema de estas características. La tara semántica represiva está ahí, se puede descubrir aunque quieran disimularla tras la pretendida neutralidad de las estructuras sintácticas. Limitar la tarea inclusiva a eliminar un final que marca, bien la pluralidad bien la especifidad, sería insuficiente, y derivaría en una trampa que indudablemente llevaría a nuevas invisibilidades. Sería una ingenuidad letal aceptar esa premisa a veces ciega y frecuentemente maligna. De igual manera que la basura en una esquina hace que se degrade una calle entera, que la llave inglesa usada en un crimen es inadecuada para arreglar la cuna en que duerme la criatura lactante en una casa feliz, la huella machista de una partícula en una palabra se traslada a la letra aunque esté exenta de carga semántica. ¿Puede esa letra, esa llave inglesa, dejar de ser partícipe de un crimen? ¿Quién querría bañarse en agua sucia si hay alternativa? Se dice que en las lenguas las estrategias inducidas únicamente desde arriba fracasan de manera inevitable. Se afirma tajantemente, y se prescinde de sustentar la tesis en pruebas ni nada similar, más allá de la experiencia previa en varias lenguas. Si, antes de ver cualquier prueba, se visten de verdades las herramientas de defensa de un régimen y de una estructura que abarca de la metafísica al episteme y limita la viabilidad de la experiencia y así la capacidad de transmitir la riqueza de la vivencia femenina, ¿qué enseñanza se traslada, qué cadena se desactiva, qué cárcel se destruye? La resistencia que encuentra este avance exige recrudecer el ataque. La intensidad ha de ser triplicada. Nunca se es excesivamente radical: hace falta llegar hasta el límite, e ir más allá. Dirán que es una quimera: esa vieja etiqueta nunca detiene a las feministas. Advierten de que se perderán palabras habituales, muy útiles en la vida diaria. Habrá que buscar nuevas. La vertiente gráfica habrá de marcar esta vez la ruta de la lengua hablada, la vertiente escrita guiará a la auditiva en esta travesía fascinante. Imaginar permitirá purificar, empezar desde la línea de salida, crear una lengua nueva. La batalla para resignificar empieza en el significante. La creatividad servirá para hallar maneras alternativas de describir, para descubrir maneras distintas de pensar. Algunas ideas y palabras se perderán: eran antiguallas, inadecuadas para esta era. Y, además, aunque haya a quien le pese y quien se ría de la idea, eliminar palabras que designan realidades desagradables puede eliminar algunas de esas realidades desagradables. La asfixiante presencia de la letra machista, que simula su naturaleza fálica en su circularidad, ha de ser resistida. La lucha feminista bien merece renuncias. Empezaré naturalmente en esta pieza. Parece a primera vista una tarea fuera del alcance de cualquiera, extenuante. Al final es fácil. Ya se ve: terminé esta página sin ella. Y, sinceramente, perder una quinta parte de las herramientas lingüísticas básicas para fabricar sílabas y una sexta parte de la palabra que me designa es una renuncia asumible en aras del avance de la mitad de la humanidad. De fondo he seleccionado noticias diversas en las que el foco de atención son mujeres que han sobresalido en su ramo o actividad, desarrollando atributos y comportamientos que no se esperan de una mujer. Mujeres exitosas, competitivas, fuertes, activas, aventureras, jefes, líderes, que dejan de lado el rol de madre o cuidadora y son felices con ello, etc. Hombres y mujeres deben poder ser libres de desarrollar sus capacidades, atributos y especialidades en las actividades y forma de vida que ellos elijan. Este performance nace de un comentario donde una chica comentaba que su madre le tomaba una foto de cuerpo completo antes de salir de casa, ella preguntándole por qué lo hacía, la respuesta fue: “Por sí es tu última foto, y te tengo que salir a buscar a las calles, sepa como ibas vestida”. Mientras unos se toman fotografías por presunción, otros piensan en la imagen como última ocasión para visibilizar un cuerpo que es vulnerable. El espacio público que tiene a intervenir el performance son las calles llenas de transeúntes o espacios destinados a la exhibición de estos, como galerías, museos y festivales, pero existe un espacio público, aún con mayor tránsito constante y mayor alcance, el ágora contemporánea, este son las redes sociales. Según estudios mercadológicos actuales la red social con mayores usuarios en México, con un rango de edad entre 15 y 25 años, es Instagram, a su vez el mayor número de usuarios son mujeres, y las publicaciones más exitosas, son selfies. En México las cifras de desapariciones forzadas y feminicidios va en un aumento alarmante desde el 2012, justamente las mujeres que lo sufren, tienen una edad entre 15 y 25 años. Lo cautivante de esta red social que la diferencia de otras haciéndola más exitosa, es que todo se dice con imágenes, breves y efímeras, estas demuestran poder, lujos, superioridad moral, etc. Hoy día, hay más gente interesada en producir imágenes que en mirarlas. Por un lado producimos personas artificiales, dobles o avatares con un doble propósito: por un lado, situarnos en los medios visuales, y por otro proteger nuestros cuerpos biológicos de la mirada mediática. (Boris Groys) Pasar tiempo en esta red social hace que lo desagradable de las realidades desaparezcan, brindándonos una herramienta para diseñar nuestro propio espacio público. En un mundo de diseño total, el hombre se vuelve una cosa diseñada, una suerte de objeto de museo, un cadáver a ser exhibido públicamente. (Adolf Loos) Para los constructivistas rusos, el camino hacia los objetos virtuosos, aquellos que mostraban realmente lo que eran, pasaban por la eliminación de todo lo que era meramente artístico. Por otro lado el arte según Boris Groys ya no se entiende como la producción de obras de arte sino como la documentación de una “vida-como-proyecto” más allá de sus resultados. Así las acciones de este performance carecen de estética y es una vida como proyecto. Sartre alguna vez describió el estado del “ser-como-proyecto” como la condición ontológica de la existencia humana. De acuerdo con Sartre, cada persona vive desde la perspectiva de un futuro individual que necesariamente permanece inaccesible para la mirada de los otros. Lo útil del uso de las redes sociales es que puedes vislumbrar y dar a conocer una pequeña parte de estos futuros y presentes individuales que por problemáticas políticas, económicas o sociales se vuelven colectivas. Divagando en el internet en especial en la plataforma de YouTube me encontré con un canal de una mujer que se autodenomina la “reina de la faja”, esta mujer te da consejos tipo y te recomienda diferentes tipos de fajas ella las usa todo el día durante toda la semana y así como ella muchas otras mujeres las utilizan para poder seguir el estereotipo de mujer delgada y con curvas. El usar este tipo de prendas es incómodo, cansado y caro solo para llenar un estándar de belleza. Lo que yo realice fue el acto de medir mi cuerpo sin esta prenda y volver a medir con ella puesta, los centímetros que redujo mi cuero fueron escasos y la incomodidad de portarla durante varias horas fue mucha. La concientización de seguir conservando esta planta requiere de su protección y cuidado por generaciones para que llegue a un estado adulto. La planta echinocactus platyacanthus, es una cactácea que crece en el noreste de Guanajuato y que desde el 2008 se ha saqueado hasta llegar a una preocupación regional y poniendo en riesgo el clima semidesértico de la zona a lo que se le denominó ecocidio. Desde el 2005 realice una colección pictórica denominada “Peligro de extinción” para difundir y preservar las cactáceas de mi zona. Pero después del 2008 me dediqué más a la denuncia legal que a la creación artística para defender estas plantas. El ecocidio puede ser también el resultado de contaminación masiva tal como el vertido de desechos de industrias o contaminación por pesticidas que destruyen la fauna y flora local. Una definición más laxa de ecocidio es la que incluye la destrucción causada por especies debido a desequilibrios ecológicos. Echinocactus platyacanthus, Link & Otto, 1827, bisnaga es una especie perteneciente a la familia Cactaceae. Echinocactus: nombre genérico que deriva del término latino: echino = "erizo" y cactus, donde se refiere a que es un cactus con forma de erizo. platyacanthus: epíteto latino que significa "con una gran espina". Es una especie protegida debido a la disminución de su hábitat, lo que la ha impactado negativamente en su población. En México, está listada como especie sujeta a protección especial por la NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2001. El artista para poder crear siempre tiene una planeación u organización de cómo realizar su obra (ritual) y este por lo general cada vez que lo realiza es semejante, como creador se ha llevado a la discusión de ser un interceptor de lo terreno con lo divino (el arte) por lo que en esta representación expongo al superhéroe como al artista y el ritual que realiza haciendo semejanza o comparándolo con el ritual católico, para poder tener un contacto con lo espiritual (Dios). “Dentro del propio arte, el creador ha ocupado a pasar un lugar central. No sólo porque impone su presencia en sus mismas obras, porque aparece rigiéndolas y determinándolas mediante la ironía y la crítica en vez de dejarlas actuar por sí mismas, sino también porque su propia figura aparece como héroe en ellas con una significativa frecuencia.
