El video consiste en una video-performance en la que cubro mí rostro a modo de crisálida con una cuerda de rafia mientras se sobre-proyectan imágenes de una calle comercial del centro de Glasgow. El resultado es un conglomerado de marcas, gente, y ruido que nos habla de la identidad del individuo contemporáneo. Una identidad colectiva, difusa, en continua negación, difuminando la frontera entre el “yo” y el otro, entre lo público y lo privado, una imagen desenfocada de la cultura contemporánea. El video parte de una situación personal, de una necesidad íntima de aislarme, de ocultarme. De ahí la metáfora de la crisálida como guarida en la que poder esconderse para renacer convertido en otra cosa. La construcción de un capullo con la intención de aislarse de la influencia de lo público. El audio, por otro lado, consiste en un paisaje sonoro de la actividad de dicha calle comercial mezclado con la repetición, a modo de letanía, de las conjugaciones del verbo ser. Este performance nace de un comentario donde una chica comentaba que su madre le tomaba una foto de cuerpo completo antes de salir de casa, ella preguntándole por qué lo hacía, la respuesta fue: “Por sí es tu última foto, y te tengo que salir a buscar a las calles, sepa como ibas vestida”. Mientras unos se toman fotografías por presunción, otros piensan en la imagen como última ocasión para visibilizar un cuerpo que es vulnerable. El espacio público que tiene a intervenir el performance son las calles llenas de transeúntes o espacios destinados a la exhibición de estos, como galerías, museos y festivales, pero existe un espacio público, aún con mayor tránsito constante y mayor alcance, el ágora contemporánea, este son las redes sociales. Según estudios mercadológicos actuales la red social con mayores usuarios en México, con un rango de edad entre 15 y 25 años, es Instagram, a su vez el mayor número de usuarios son mujeres, y las publicaciones más exitosas, son selfies. En México las cifras de desapariciones forzadas y feminicidios va en un aumento alarmante desde el 2012, justamente las mujeres que lo sufren, tienen una edad entre 15 y 25 años. Lo cautivante de esta red social que la diferencia de otras haciéndola más exitosa, es que todo se dice con imágenes, breves y efímeras, estas demuestran poder, lujos, superioridad moral, etc. Hoy día, hay más gente interesada en producir imágenes que en mirarlas. Por un lado producimos personas artificiales, dobles o avatares con un doble propósito: por un lado, situarnos en los medios visuales, y por otro proteger nuestros cuerpos biológicos de la mirada mediática. (Boris Groys) Pasar tiempo en esta red social hace que lo desagradable de las realidades desaparezcan, brindándonos una herramienta para diseñar nuestro propio espacio público. En un mundo de diseño total, el hombre se vuelve una cosa diseñada, una suerte de objeto de museo, un cadáver a ser exhibido públicamente. (Adolf Loos) Para los constructivistas rusos, el camino hacia los objetos virtuosos, aquellos que mostraban realmente lo que eran, pasaban por la eliminación de todo lo que era meramente artístico. Por otro lado el arte según Boris Groys ya no se entiende como la producción de obras de arte sino como la documentación de una “vida-como-proyecto” más allá de sus resultados. Así las acciones de este performance carecen de estética y es una vida como proyecto. Sartre alguna vez describió el estado del “ser-como-proyecto” como la condición ontológica de la existencia humana. De acuerdo con Sartre, cada persona vive desde la perspectiva de un futuro individual que necesariamente permanece inaccesible para la mirada de los otros. Lo útil del uso de las redes sociales es que puedes vislumbrar y dar a conocer una pequeña parte de estos futuros y presentes individuales que por problemáticas políticas, económicas o sociales se vuelven colectivas. Uno de los hallazgos obliga al ajuste de cifras: no son 37 mil, sino 40 mil 180 las personas que el gobierno tiene reportadas como desaparecidas desde 2006. La revelación fue hecha el jueves 17 por Roberto Cabrera Alfaro, días después de presentar su renuncia como titular de la Comisión Nacional de Búsqueda. Así, las entidades con más cadáveres atorados en ese limbo de desinformación son Jalisco, con 658 casos; Estado de México, con 129, y Sonora, con 85. Sin embargo, no son las únicas cifras descubiertas. En cuanto al género femenino, ocho mil 495 mujeres han desaparecido en México en 9 años, principalmente en el Estado de México y Tamaulipas. De ellas, 625 fueron encontradas sin vida, el resto continúan desaparecidas o fueron halladas en condiciones de toda índole. En ese mismo lapso solo se han registrado 50 denuncias por desaparición forzada de mujeres. Las cifras provienen del informe "Derechos y violencias: la experiencia de ser mujer", realizado por la Red TDT, el cual documentó además que, entre 2008 y 2017, 4 mil 230 mujeres fueron víctimas de trata, de las cuales 466 eran menores de edad, con base en información obtenida a través de solicitudes de información. El término guapo está un poco más familiarizado con el atractivo de un hombre, pero hay zonas del país, en que hasta esta palabra está mal empleada viniendo de un hombre. De esta manera la palabra bonito al estar relacionada con la mujer, al ser empleada en un hombre, es algo completamente “homosexual”, un hombre no puede decir bonito, no puede ser bonito, y en ocasiones ni siquiera guapo. El hombre es víctima de su machismo, se juzga a sí mismo y juzga a los demás, está tan presente su homofobia, que él mismo inventa parámetros que no existen, él mismo maquilla a los demás para no maquillarse él. Son reglas tontas que han hecho del hombre un mastodonte que no puede juzgar la belleza ni siquiera de sí mismo, un hombre no puede sentirse bonito, no puede tener aspiraciones a embellecerse, sin antes ser juzgado por los demás y peor aún, por sí mismo. El hombre no puede usar maquillaje, eso es de mujeres, el hombre no tiene el derecho de aparentar belleza, el hombre no puede tener belleza, ¿eres una macho o un joto? Lo que hago en esta presentación de performance es una crítica social, que va dirigida al maltrato de la clase obrera de nuestro país en general, en el cual se encuentra una gran cantidad de personas que sacrifican gustos, pasiones, momentos y parte de su vida por encontrar una manera de conseguir ingresos y poder sobrevivir y solventar una vida “digna”. La solicitud de empleo que me toco presentar decía: “Se busca auxiliar contable con o sin experiencia, entre 20 y 30 años”. Para este performance decidí llevar a cabo una protesta hacia la edad, ya que en la mayoría de vacantes la edad que se pide es máximo hasta 35 años, así que la gente mayor a esa edad queda excluida y desechada por la sociedad, a pesar de los años de experiencia que pudiera llegar a tener. Las personas mayores la mayor parte del tiempo son tratados como gente incapaz de valerse por sí misma y asumimos que por su avanzada edad no saben o no pueden, pero considero que ellos son quienes debemos respetar más y darles oportunidades ya que ellos son el pilar de nuestro presente y en un futuro nosotros los remplazaremos al envejecer. Ser ama de casa sigue siendo estrechamente vinculado con el hecho de ser mujer y con la subordinación del género femenino en la sociedad. Al contrario de lo que pasa con los hombres, las mujeres al casarse ceden control sobre sus cuerpos, sexualmente y referente al trabajo doméstico, a los hombres. Desde la perspectiva de la ama de casa ser tratada o considerada como sirvienta también conlleva riesgos; el esperar que una mujer al casarse o juntarse con un hombre le debe servicios personales en la forma del trabajo doméstico y emocional pone en juego sus derechos constitucionales como mujeres. La reflexión por parte de las mujeres del hogar en torno a sus quehaceres ha llevado a una consideración más crítica sobre la definición de la labor doméstica. Se hacen borrosos los límites entre algunas actividades personales (bañarse, vestirse, comer) y en la labor doméstica cuando se toma que son las mujeres, madres y cabezas del hogar, quienes preparan el baño y la ropa a sus esposos e hijos o les presentan los alimentos de tal manera que requieren de un mínimo esfuerzo para ser consumido. Es por esto que en este performance mediante un que hacer doméstico, dejó en evidencia el adiestramiento que la mujer, por ser mujer, adopta desde muy pequeña en su crianza y como ya desde un tiempo se nos ha permitido repensarnos como seres autónomos y críticos frente al tema de la domesticación en el hogar. Oculto, reservado” De lo más adentro e íntimo abarca este performance haciendo una alegoría a una pérdida personal de un ser amado y a las víctimas del conflicto armado por el cual ha pasado el Estado de Colombia desde el año 1964 hasta el año 2016 en donde se firmó el acuerdo por la paz entre las Fuerzas Armadas de Colombia- Ejército del Pueblo (FARC-EP) y el Estado Colombiano. Manifestando de manera poética el dolor interno que deja una pérdida, a través del gesto de vomitar una aguja enhebrada con hilo rojo que está conectada a la silueta del suelo, la cual personifica un cuerpo, representando así la lucha para curar la herida de la ausencia y la aceptación de la misma mediante el segundo gesto que es -coser-. En base al concepto que la profesora otorgó, este mismo fue descontextualizado de forma que la idea de “pintor profesional” se aplicó en otra idea. La idea de contratar a un profesional que renueve nuestra casa, nuestro hogar indica un deseo de mantener en buenas condiciones a este mismo. Hablando en un sentido espiritual, nuestro cuerpo es nuestra casa, es lo que habitamos y constantemente estamos cuidándolo, renovándolo, manteniéndolo limpio y presentable. Se trata de actos que, a pesar de parecer tan cotidianos en realidad desde un punto de vista mas profundo, tienen un significado muy importante, el aprender a ver las cosas desde otra perspectiva revela la belleza de la vida y los detalles tan simples pero hermosos de esta misma. En este performance se realizaron los actos cotidianos de lavarnos la cara, cepillar nuestros dientes, lavar nuestro cabello y cuerpo, como parte de esta idea de renovar nuestro hogar, que es nuestro propio cuerpo.
