Si tomamos entre las manos una caracola, al acercarla a nuestro oído lo que descubrimos no es otra cosa que el sonido del tiempo; recibimos en ese eco el registro de miles de años de vida, de miles de años de cultura, tal vez el eco de aquel primer sonido del Big-Bang. El registro del tiempo que atesora la caracola habita también las artes. En realidad, poco o nada significan las marcas que el hombre pretende establecer en el tiempo; no somos diferentes, nada nos hará diferentes, ni siquiera un milenio más. Somos el mismo acierto y error de hace treinta mil años. Dejemos la soberbia al pensar que llegaremos a ser como dioses; al tiempo que un hombre pintaba el bisonte sobre la pared de la cueva, otro reventaba el cráneo de su enemigo. En este instante se detonan bombas nucleares, al tiempo que un artista obedece a aquel mismo eco impulso creador proyectándolo hacia el mañana. La reflexión en torno al tiempo, la cultura y las artes es el motivo que ha reunido en este número especial de EBA Áurea colaboraciones procedentes de diferentes disciplinas; desde los primeros intentos del hombre por medir el tiempo y así organizar su realidad, hasta las más recientes tecnologías de la realidad virtual, pasando por la poesía, la pintura, la fotografía, la música...
