Description An account of the resource Traditionally, there has been a positivistic separation between theater and dance, which reduces the field of interpretation for both the dancer and the actor. Hence, this investigation relies on the analysis of the avant-garde studies in the field of Modern and Contemporary Art, apprehending the problem of the « expressive body » in the scenic arts. Different theoretical proposals for the scenic arts are analyzed which support the importance of unity between Dance and Theater, mainly in the proposal by Kazuo Ohno in the art of Butoh, affirming the fundamental idea of unity between theater and dance through a one and only « expressive body ».
