La presente investigación se plantea paralelamente entre dos ejes: el primero el tema de la violencia en México en los últimos diez años, situación emergente para el país ligado al problema de los medios de comunicación, dentro de esta problemática; el otro eje se da en torno a la producción artística individual de Teresa Margolles en un recorrido no lineal en su producción hasta la última muestra en Kassel, Alemania, en el presente año. Teresa Margolles artista mexicana comienza a trabajar individualmente a partir de la segunda mitad de la década de los noventa, después de ser parte del grupo SEMEFO, nombre apropiado de la Institución pública: Servicio Médico Forense. Teresa Margolles fue seleccionada en el año 2009 para representar a México en la quincuagésima edición de la Bienal de Venecia, la muestra se tituló ¿De qué otra cosa podríamos hablar?, exposición que está concebida a partir de huellas materiales de asesinatos, reportes policíacos, noticias de prensa, sucesos socio-políticos; de conceptos como poder, muerte, y prohibición; de acontecimientos violentos reales en donde la artista concibe, se inserta y construye sus piezas, la morgue es espacio de trabajo a manera de taller de la artista que también se traslada a las calles en los últimos años, trabajando a partir de la llamada “guerra contra las drogas”, la cual ha generado fosas clandestinas, muertes de policías, de militares, de reporteros, de narcotraficantes, de madres, de familias, de niños, de miles de jóvenes. La producción de Teresa Margolles plantea un espacio de reflexión, de denuncia, enfrentándonos a una cruel espectralidad, su exploración con la muerte y el cadáver tiene que ver con la cuestión social, los procesos de duelo histórico que define el entorno actual que ha dejado miles de muertos en el país. La investigación se desprende entonces de las relaciones entre sucesos, hechos y engranajes de lo social, lo político y lo artístico. El trabajo está elaborado a través de un análisis rizomático, así como de la teoría contemporánea a partir del posestructuralismo francés y el arte contemporáneo. Description An account of the resource This research is established in a parallel way between two axis: the first one is the violence in Mexico during the last ten years, an emergent situation for this country, which is attached to the media problem; the other axis emerges around Teresa Margolles´s individual artistic production in a non-linear travel until her last exhibition presented this year in Kassel, Germany. Teresa Margolles, a Mexican artist, started working individually since the second half of the nineties, after being an integrant of some to group of SEMEFO, name taken from the public institution: Forensic Medical Service (Servicio Médico Forense). In 2009, Teresa Margolles was selected to represent Mexico for the fiftieth edition of Venice´s Biennial, the exhibition was named: ¿De qué otra cosa podríamos hablar? (Of what other thing can we talk about?) Exhibition conceived from the material traces of murders, police´s reports, news, socio-political events; from concepts like power, death and forbiddance; from real violent events, in which the artist conceives, becomes part and builds her pieces. Morgues, and recently streets, are like a workshop, working in the so called “war against the narco”, which has generated clandestine graves, and the death of: policemen, soldiers, reporters, drug dealers, mothers, families, children and thousands of young people. Teresa Margolles’s production raises a space for reflection, for denounce facing us against a cruel spectrality. Her exploration with death and corpses involves with the social matter, the historical grieving process that defines the actual background that had left over thousands of deaths in the country. So the investigation takes part from the relations between the events, the facts and social gears, political and artistic. The study is carried out through a rizomatical analysis, and also through the contemporary theory based the French post-structuralism and the modern-day art.
