En esta tesis se analiza el devenir de las imágenes en nuestra sociedad, ya sea que provengan del mundo del Arte o simplemente de la cultura general, viendo la manera en que éstas llegan a ser recibidas y producidas contemporáneamente. La idea central de la investigación es el poder hablar de la existencia de las imágenes de dominio público en nuestros días, y cómo esto ha ayudado a que el aura que se pensaba que tenían o solían tener ciertas obras de Arte se haya eliminado o desvalorizado, llegando al punto de no poder seguir hablando de obras de Arte como normalmente se entiende. Se desarrolla una reflexión crítica del uso de las imágenes, cómo han sido usadas como fuentes tanto de conocimiento, como de control por parte de la humanidad. En las sociedades contemporáneas nos encontramos con la recolección, la valorización, la re-valorización, las repeticiones, las simulaciones, la imitación, la copia y la duplicación de ciertas imágenes, procesos en los que se aprecia el peso y la función que los museos y otros medios de control tienen y ejercen para salvaguardar la cultura de la humanidad; pero también nos percatamos de que actualmente sus funciones se han visto socavadas por algunos nuevos medios de conservación y exhibición de las imágenes del dominio público. Al analizar una serie de imágenes a lo largo de la historia, se puede notar que no han sufrido cambios significativos en su forma, sólo en su contenido, a través de la apropiación y el uso que se ha hecho de ellas; así se ha creado un gran bagaje cultural o imágenes del dominio público, en las que se ha llegado a perder de vista la autoría de la imagen en este devenir de usos y desusos de las mismas. Así pues, se plantea en la investigación la necesidad de que los nuevos teóricos consideren estos conceptos al hablar de Arte. Description An account of the resource The purpose of this thesis is to analyze how images have become part of our society, even when they come from art or popular culture, and observing the way they have been adopted, created and produced by the contemporary culture. The main idea of this research is to talk about the images that have become of public domain in our days, and how this development has helped to eliminate the concept of aura that art images use to have, up to the moment to stop talking about Art pieces in a traditional way. On this work I will develop a critical reflection on the use of images, and how they have become a source of knowledge, and also a way of control of society. In contemporary culture we can find a recollection, valorization, re-valorization, repetition, simulation, imitation, copy and duplication of some images, and different processes in which we can observe how museums exercise a function preservation and different ways of control in order to keep human culture. But also we can notice that this function has been taken for new media of preservation and distribution for the public. When we analyze some images along history, we can point that there are no significant changes in their form, but is their content that has been modified, through appropriation and the use that it´s given to it. In this way it has been created a cultural baggage or images become part of public domain. And sometimes, it´s lost the authors point view, in their different uses. In this research set forge the need of consider this new concepts in the theoretical art discussion.
